Horizon West isn’t its own city—it’s an unincorporated region of Orange County that is part of the broader Winter Garden area. But, honestly, Horizon West  has morphed into being its own thing, and it’s awesome! And the “downtown” area, known as Hamlin, has become a go-to spot for shopping and dining.

The Horizon West/Hamlin region has been the fastest growing area within the Orlando metro since 2019. The area has grown from less than 1,000 people to 65,000+ people over the last 20 years.

Crossline Community Church

Crossline Community Church started as a campus of a church from Michigan, but became autonomous in 2018. They currently meet at Windermere Prep School, but intend to move into the southern part of Horizon West (they’ve purchase land). Crossline Community Church holds to mainstream evangelical theology. Their worship services seek to be contemporary and relevant. They’re known for putting great emphasis on family ministry and sports programs.

 

Horizon City Church

Horizon City Church (that’s us) is a new church in our area. We’re a part of Pillar Network. We meet at Sunridge Elementary School in south Winter Garden (with the intention of eventually moving further south into the heart of Horizon West). We preach expository sermons and use a classic Protestant liturgy. We also greatly emphasize strong relationships; we aim to be an easy-entry community for new comers. We sing mostly contemporary worship songs and modern hymns, with a few traditional hymns mixed in too. Plan your visit.

 

Horizon West Church

Horizon West Church is a campus of First Baptist Orlando. Horizon West Church aligns with classic Southern Baptist theology, and there’s elements of the church that align with classic/typical Southern Baptist style/flavor. Horizon West Church is especially known for a variety of high-quality kids programs. They meet at Horizon High School.

 

Horizon West Community Church

Horizon West Community Church is known for being a multi-ethnic, multi-lingual local church. They are part of the Send Network. They have simple but relevant church services. Their services are primarily for Portuguese speakers, but they also offer translation for English and Spanish speakers. They have a reputation for placing great emphasis on the local church being a tight-knit family.

 

Life Church

Life Church is part of the Converge (Baptist) network and Baptist Bible Fellowship. The church meets at Water Springs Middle School down on the south end of Horizon West. Life Church holds to good mainstream evangelical theology. Their worship service seeks to be contemporary and relevant. They preach a blend of topical and expository sermons.

 

The Grove Bible Chapel

The Grove Bible Chapel is a nondenominational church that emphasizes diligently teaching verse-by-verse and small groups ministry. Their building is right off of FL-429 in the heart of Hamlin. The Grove Bible Chapel affirms Calvinistic-leaning theology. In the words of one of their pastors, “The Grove Bible Chapel is  an Elder-governed, staff-lead church. With the Lord’s help we are striving to be a church who prays fervently, preaches boldly, worships passionately, makes disciples purposely, shares the Good News of the Gospel boldly, and is strategic with our church planting.”

 

Village Point Church

Village Point Church is part of the Send Network. They hold to good mainstream evangelical theology. Village Point places significant emphasis on being a church for the community and being a place where new believers can really get connected and begin to learn to walk with Jesus. They mostly sing contemporary worship music, but occasionally may mix-in some modern hymns. Village Point might be the only non-Reformed church in our area that is committed to (mostly) expository preaching. They meet at Hamlin Middle School.
